If you can add a hotel to stay in that would be great. You really only need one day here. But from Monaco you can day trip to Nice and nearby small towns on the French Riviera. Ideally, an extra day in Florence would be great to give you more time to day trip into Tuscany. You could take a day from Monaco. From Santorini, you could fly to Venice and then take the train to Florence then Rome.
From Rome, fly to Monaco. There is not one good place in Italy to stay in to day trip to Venice and Tuscany. For Rome , Venice and Florence we have hotel recommendations in each post. May I ask why you picked Imerovigli over Oia in Santorini? Fira seems to busy, so thats why we are looking at Oia. But Imerovigli seems close enough to Fira where we could walk into Fira for some things to do. Is there much to do in Imerovigli or would we have to go to Fira or Oia to shop, stroll the walks, restaurants? Hello Shannon. As for the Venice hotels, it might be too early to make your reservations. I highly doubt that numerous hotels are all sold out over one year in advance.
You could check the hotels for the same dates this May, or even this September, just to test that theory. We picked Imerovigli because we really liked the hotel we stayed in. And then we found that we really liked Imerovigli.
And that makes it quiet and less touristy. And yes, you can walk to Fira from Imerovigli, but takes a little while. Thank you for all the great information about Santorini.
