You said you would give somebody a few balls. Thats great!! Down here in South Florida they don't give nothing. The rep told me if they where any other brand of clubs they could do something. I didn't mind buying the clubs the first time cause it was buy a club here and there.

But when you spend a large some of money and the dealer won't even give you a few sleeves of balls, thats Titleist. A few sleeves of balls or a hat or a towel would have gave me more respect for titleist. I went to Dicks, Edwin Watts, and Golfsmith. They all say the same thing. I have a coupon for After I spent a few thoudsand dollars they told me they can't honor the Clearly not a club manufacturer rep, I think you meant a store salesman.

And he lied. Just try to get any Ping products at a discounted price that is not authorized by Ping. They will yank the account of any merchant selling their products at the least little discount. One of the reasons for this is to protect the merchants that provide you with additional services over those that provide none.

For example you go to the local golf shop, try out all the different clubs, get the recommendations from the trained staff, then you go to joeblow. With these price restrictions in place you do yourself a disservice by going to joeblow. If the major companies allowed unrestricted pricing, then everyone would do as described, and soon the local golf shops would be out of business.

Sounds like a place that will work with you and needs to be supported for doing so. I'll have to look them up myself next time I'm down there.

I am really sorry for your loss. If my clubs got stolen I would probably do two things. Cry then call the CIA to track down whoever did it. I am really sorry! Having been in retail and customer service all my working life, I can't tell you how many customers ask for something free, because they CHOOSE to come to my business and buy something.

If businesses gave out free items with every sale, just imagine how much more expensive products would be! Again I feel bad someone stole your clubs! Did someone force you to go to the retailer and buy new equipment? Didn't think so! So please don't ask for something free just because you bought something! Life Happens! Titleist does this to protect the brand. As a manufacturer in the CE market we do the same. The only way to prevent your products from being commoditized on the internet is to protect the retailer by having zero tolerance for violating policies to sell a brand.

By allowing retailers to discount products at their whim, your products will be racing to zero because each retailer will be trying to beat each other for the deal. Is it frustrating to the consumer? Sure just as much as it is frustrating for brands because you have the others out there that give deep deals so they become more popular BUT not because they are better, but cheaper.

As it is commonly known in manufacturing, no one wins a price war. There will always be someone cheaper. On the note of your equipment getting swiped, that would suck.

Makes me nervous now I don't know how golf club memberships are structured in the U. S, but here in Australia, or at the very least at my club, we pay a small fee for insurance as part of our yearly membership fees. This is because I know that if anything was to happen to my sticks, I would get new ones straight away, no questions asked! It is terrible your clubs were stolen. But I also agree that Titleist and a few others do not allow a retailer to give a discount.

The retailer takes the hit, not Titleist. And since Titleist sets what they sell it to there retailers, they still in essence control the price.

I do play strictly Titleist right now, but I do not enjoy there pricing restriction on there retailers. Baitkiller Posted March 24, Justmuckit Posted March 24, LoPan12 Posted March 25, Posted March 25, It was comical, confusing, and mildly rewarding.

Orlandogolfguru Posted March 25, Blakester Posted March 25, Pondy Posted March 25, I hate it and shop at the other store in town most of the time.

Some of their prices truly are laugh out loud. Posted March 26, I am everyman. Anser Posted March 28, Posted March 28, Epic Speed triple diamond 8. You know you've got it bad when that happens. If the clubs are used, there is a great possibility that they want to move them. The longer they sit on the wall, the greater the discount should be. Make them an offer and see what happens. Most retailers are honest. If they are smart, they will do anything possible to get and keep your business. These are tough economic times we're in, my friends. I think that makes it a bit of a buyer's market.
